No school tomorrow.
A snow day they have declared.
Laundry and cleaning.

January 30, 2010

Snowed in together.
How lovely and white and cold.
Makes my heart feel full.

January 29, 2010

Scratchy throat not good.
Children don't have it, not yet.
I hope it's just me.

January 28, 2010

You want a new car.
I want a secure future.
You get your wants first.

January 27, 2010

State of the Union
Chicken for dinner not steak
on my wedding plates.

January 24, 2010

Another migraine
Not going to church today
or anywhere else.

January 23, 2010

Because I said so.
Act your age not your shoe size.
Rest in peace Carson.

January 22, 2010

Husband out tonight
Girls in bed and time to sleep
Sweet dreams to you all.

January 21, 2010

Rainy cold wet day
Perfect day for sleeping in
School bell will ring soon.

January 20, 2010

Sunshine continues.
Brilliant child of ours
Shines even brighter.

January 19, 2010

How happily the kids play.
School on Wednedsay!

January 18, 2010

A quiet Monday
Two days off and good weather
Playdate at Kids World.

January 17, 2010

You peed in a cup
Sunday school gave you a chance
To not be punished.

January 16, 2010

Lazy Saturday
Relax and make food for the
neighbors' gathering.

January 15, 2010

Spent a pleasant time with Joe.
Must get party food.

January 14, 2010

Another Thursday
Lunch with my friend Stephanie
Made the day brighter.

January 13, 2010

Went to lunch with Joe
Registered Kat for "big school"
Working on a file.

January 12, 2010

Coffee cup empty
Heart is full of gratitude
More coffee awaits.

January 11, 2010

Is it really dawn?
Bed too warm to brave the cold.
Children too cranky.

January 10, 2010

Sunday morning peace.
Going to church but alone.
Peaceful time passes.

January 9, 2010

Sleeping husband sleeps
The children have found markers.
White walls colored now.

January 8, 2010

It is Friday.
The weekend comes too slowly
And leaves too quickly.

January 7, 2010

Good Morning Sunshine.
It is so cold out today.
I love my remote.

January 6, 2010

Ice cream cake I eat
Please don't go straight to my hips.
Too sinful to resist.

January 5, 2010

Happy Birthday Joe!
My love for you grows each year.
You are my true love.

January 4, 2010

Monday is here again.
Drag the sleepy kids from bed.
Drink more coffee.

January 3, 2010

Another Sunday
Eat lunch out at Red Robin
French fries call to me.

January 2, 2010

Saturday at home
Sleep in late and eat some eggs
Bake a loaf of bread.

January 1, 2010

Welcome!

I decided to start this blog because although I spend a lot of time on the computer, I don't usually sit to write for very long at any one time. I thought maybe if I could express my thoughts within the framework of haiku poems, it would be a little less intimidating, and maybe a lot of fun. So join me if you will on my haiku journey.

Haiku: A Japanese poem composed of three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables.

Edited to add:
I have decided to expand my project slightly. Given that some haiku may be a bit vague, I will periodically include a link to my new new blog, Expanded Expressions, so I can express my other thoughts without the constraint of the Haiku and without messing up my format on this blog. Enjoy!
